Where it started.

A 6-2, 150 lb freshman, by his own account, when he came to ATP in August 2022. His first public reading, a year in, was a fastball sitting 83 to 84.

What they wanted

Size first. Then a fastball that matched the frame.

Working diagnosis

Mass and strength first. The delivery was already simple and repeatable; Perfect Game's scouts said so. What the frame needed was 70 lb and the strength to use it, and the fastball followed: 84 at month twelve, 93.5 at month thirty-three, 95 a week later.
